SUMMARY:Joseph Martin (Tenor)\, Martin Bussey (Pianist/Composer)
DESCRIPTION:Joseph Martin will be performing a selection of songs which will include music by Handel\, Schubert\, Vaughn Williams and Bussey. Joe is a graduate of the University of Manchester and regularly performs as soloist across the north west. Recent performances include St Matthew Passion (Bach) and Bach cantatas with the Liverpool Bach Collective. His music often reflects his passion for voices but there is also a substantial catalogue of instrumental works\, particularly for organ and piano and illustrates his strong interest in history\, literature and life in the borderlands between Cheshire\, Shropshire and Wales.  Martin’s songs\, choral and instrumental works have been broadcast on many occasions on BBC Radio 3 and performed at many venues including Wigmore Hall\, The Barbican\, Liverpool Philharmonic Music Room\, RNCM\, RCM and GSMD\, and at Lake District Summer Music\, Endellion\, Southwell and Three Choirs Festivals. He has many recordings released on the Resonus classical label including ‘In no strange land” sung by Sonoro\, directed by Neil Ferris\, cited as “glorious” by BBC Music Magazine. Martin was a Choral Scholar at King’s College\, Cambridge where he read Music\, after which he studied as a post-graduate singer at the Royal Northern College of Music with Nicholas Powell. He ran the aural\, academic music and choral programmes at Chetham’s School of Music from 1988 to 2013 and directed Chester Bach Singers for 38 years until 2025. SUMMARY:The Fugitives
DESCRIPTION:“Despite their all-acoustic lineup\, the Fugitives bring enough energy to the stage to light up a small city……The East Van quartet conjures up a sound that’s like the missing link between Leonard Cohen\, the Pogues\, and the immortal Shorty Shitstain.” \n— Georgia Straight \nThe Fugitives perform as a dynamic modern folk quartet\, with 4-part harmony and a variety of instruments (guitar\, bass\, kick-drum\, banjo\, violin\, balalaika and harmonica). We jump from foot-stomping sing-alongs to show-stopping a capella ballads to insightful political and storytelling songs. We’re also known to bring down the house with our repartee and banter. The Georgia Straight writes\, “Despite their all-acoustic lineup\, the Fugitives bring enough energy to the stage to light up a small city… The East Vancouver quartet conjures up a sound that’s like the missing link between Leonard Cohen and the Pogues”; AmericanaUK says\,“This is classic songwriting with a conscience”; and the CBC writes\, “This show is simply brilliant”.\n \nThe Fugitives EPK

SUMMARY:Remi Harris and Roger Keenan
DESCRIPTION:An evening of Delta Blues.\nWith Remi Harris and Roger Keenan. \nJoin two fine blues musicians and enjoy an evening listening to the sounds and tales of the Mississippi. The simple sound of acoustic guitar and vocal brings the Delta to life\, celebrating the power and energy of the bluesmen who created the musical legend. The early raw style with just traditional guitar and vocal formed the foundation of modern blues music. The music weaves a story of hopes and dreams\, hardship and poverty through soulful and passionate emotions\, along with tales bringing those times and people to life.
