DESCRIPTION:Much loved songs from the stage and screen will be performed at Hermon Chapel by three young ‘up and coming’ singers\, accompanied on the piano by Stephen Owens and the Hermon Singers. \nJuliet Montgomery (Soprano)\nJuliet has performed with Glyndebourne\, Scottish Opera\, Opera Holland Park\, Buxton Opera\, Opera North and the National Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Company.  Her recent engagements include performing the role of Despina in Così fan tutte (Opera Holland Park Young Artist Programme)\, Santuzza in Cavalleria Rusticana (Occento Choir & Orchestra)\, Orpheus and Eurydice at the Edinburgh International Festival (Scottish Opera/ Opera Australia) and will be joining Blackpool Symphony Orchestra as the soprano soloist in Mahler’s Symphony No. 4. \nhttp://www.julietmontgomerysoprano.com/ \nJamie Formoy (Tenor)\nWiltshire based Tenor Jamie Formoy completed his MMus at the Royal Northern College of Music. Jamie was part of British Youth Opera’s Serena Fenwick Programme and covered the title role in their production of Peter Grimes. This year Jamie performs with the Welsh National Opera chorus and made his role debut singing Trin in La Fanciulla del West for Opera Holland Park. In recent years he has also performed Adolfo Pirelli (Sweeney Todd)\, Normanno (Lucia di Lammermoor)\, Tinca\, Song Seller (Il Tabarro)\, First Armed Man and Second Priest (Magic Flute). \nSamual Snowdon (Baritone)\nSamuel Snowdon is a Welsh Baritone who graduated with a Distinction MMus from the Royal Northern College of Music . Recent credits include soloist with Welsh National Opera’s in Candide and Puccini’s Tosca (Sciarrone/ cover)\, Jim Larkens in La fanciulla del West (2026) and Doctor Bartolo: Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia at Opera Holland Park. DESCRIPTION:The final Sunday afternoon recital of the summer at Hermon Chapel. Simone Damiani returns with Arthur Bocaneau to play piano duets which will include works by Bartok and Schubert.\nSimone Damiani enjoys a musical career as pianist and piano teacher. He has performed solo and chamber music across the UK and Europe. Simone is the Head of Keyboard at Cheltenham College and teaches piano at King Edward VI Lordswood School for Girls in Harborne. Based in Birmingham\, Simone trained at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire\, the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest and the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp under the tutelage of Polina Leschenko.\nArthur Bocaneanu has a varied career as a soloist\, chamber musician\, and teacher across the Midlands. As a soloist\, he has performed with several orchestras in the UK and in his native Romania. A dedicated chamber musician\, Arthur is a founding member of the Arcus Piano Trio and has collaborated with artists and ensembles including the Gildas Quartet\, violist Robin Ireland\, and cellist Andrei Ioniță. After completing a Master’s degree at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire\, Arthur went on to earn an Advanced Postgraduate Diploma. In 2019\, he was awarded the Joseph Weingarten Scholarship\, which enabled a year of study at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest. He currently holds teaching positions at Rugby School and Warwick School.

DESCRIPTION:Sara Colman and Rebecca Nash are both very experienced educators and they will be hosting a vocal group workshop during the Saturday afternoon (24th October) before performing at Hermon Chapel in the evening. This is for group participation and will involve learning two songs with harmony by ear (3 parts at least!) These will lean very heavily towards jazz and on the journey to learning these songs\, you will get to experience some of the jazz fundamentals including finding the best way to engage with the specific rhythmic nuances of swing and some Latin feels too! \nThis will be fun and low pressure although you will be invited to improvise for short passages (8 bars) if you fancy having a go….with guidance and encouragement…..and a no judgement environment!

DESCRIPTION:Hermon Arts are looking forward to hosting a unique cello concert with two consummate musicians performing – Sylvy Reverdie and Agnès Vesterman. They will be travelling through time playing works for cello from the 18th century such as pieces by Johann Sebastian Bach right through to the present day with a beautiful piece especially composed by Garth Knox for Agnès. \nAgnès Vesterman \nCellist and improviser\, nourished by the great classical tradition and explorer of new modes of expression\, Agnès Vesterman draws an original path between classical concerts and multiple transversal collaborations with the theatre\, the cinema and other styles of traditional and contemporary music. She has recorded extensively \nShe toured for thirteen years as the cellist of the Arpeggione quartet (1989-2003) playing in Europe’s most prestigious venues and festivals. Laureat of the Evian International competition\, and touring worldwide\, she got involved in collaborations both in chamber music and improvisation. In 2006\, she formed a duo with Garth Knox\, on the viola and viola d’amore performing repertoire ranging from baroque to contemporary\, including traditional Irish music. \nShe is Professor of chamber music at the Conservatoire National\, Supérieur de Musique de Paris\, professor of cello at the Conservatoire National Régional de Boulogne-Billancourt \, and professor of pedagogy at Pôle Sup 93 La Courneuve (cello and projects pedagogy) Agnès Vesterman has integrated the rich diversity of her practice in her pedagogy. \nSylvie Reverdy \nSylvie has been lead cellist of the Ensemble Instrumental de Basse Normandie in Caen\, the National Chamber Orquestra of Andorra since its creation in 1993 \, member of the Contemporary Music group « Barcelona 216 » conducted by Ernest Martinez Izquierdo \, played as a soloist in the « Pau Casals Festival » in Sant Salvador( Spain ) and in the Festival « Narciso Yepes » in Ordino (Andorra) \nHer enthusiasm for Chamber Music has led her to play with many ensembles and she enjoys mixing classical concerts and joining different artists (she formed the ensemble « Cuerdas al Aire » with her cousin Isabelle Laudenbach- a flamenco guitar player -and a string quartet\, and has been invited to Poland twice to play in string trio accompanying « Nanu »\, a Catalan songwriter ; In string trio ( with Nathalie Chabot-violinist of the Orchestre National de France and Michel Michalakakos\, Viola player\, soloist and teacher at Paris Conservatoire) she has played in many Festivals in France\, Spain and England\, but their most memorable experience has been playing on a small boat in the Festival « Mar Acùstic » in a cove on the North Mediterranean coast of Spain! \nSylvie moved to Oswestry in 2005 and has been regularly playing with Christopher Symons\, Musical Director during 27 years of Oswestry Recital Series. Sylvie always had a great passion for teaching and is now teaching in various Schools in Shropshire( Oswestry School\, Moreton Hall \, Adcote School) and is part of the teaching team of MMOB\, a Music Charity providing free instrument tuition for children in need.

It is an interactive Christmas play full of music\, bubbles\, puppets\, games and hilarity and has been devised for children between 2 and 6 years of age. It’s written and performed by Emily Owens\, an experienced T.I.E practitioner and accomplished West End performer. \nBrief synopsis: \nThe play is set on Christmas Eve night and Elf Poppy has been tasked with wrapping all the Christmas presents before Santa flies. She has performed at venues such as the Sydney Opera House\, Royal Albert Hall\, and Radio City Music Hall. She earned her BFA in Dance from SUNY Purchase Conservatory and teaches all levels of tap dance internationally.

DESCRIPTION:Once again back by popular demand\, Hermon Arts presents another ‘Swing into Christmas’ with the Jack Amblin Quartet on the 21st December playing your favourite swing tunes.\n\nMusicians\nJack Amblin is a Welsh drummer\, singer\, washboard player and tap dancer\, who specialises in jazz from the 1920s to rock n roll of the 1950s. He has performed with acts like Postmodern Jukebox\, Ashley Campbell\, and The Jive Aces\, with career highlights including performances at the The Royal Albert Hall\, L’Olympia in Paris\, London Palladium and Ronnie Scott’s.\n\nJim Wynn\, a jazz musician and educator from Shropshire\, graduated with a BMus (Hons) degree from the Birmingham Conservatoire in 2007 and has since become a prominent performer\, composer\, arranger\, and bandleader. He leads several groups\, including The Jim Wynn Swing Orchestra\, performing 1930s swing\, while also composing for film\, television\, and educational purposes.\n\nShrewsbury based Anthony Stevens is a talented multi instrumentalist with over 30 years of experience\, known for his animated performances and playful antics. Antony is always busy with various outfits including being a founding member of The Stray Horns\, a 4 piece roaming brass band.\n\nShropshire singer Grace Amblin graduated from The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in 2015. Her skills in Opera\, Musical Theatre and Jazz vocals make her an enchanting presence on any stage
