Lovingly curated and hosted by Igloo Hearts, featured on Y Llais (S4C) and The Piano (Channel 4), The Blue Lantern Sessions have built a reputation for presenting some of the finest artists on the UK folk, Americana, roots and acoustic scene in an intimate, Jools Holland inspired setting. A voice that stops you in your tracks — and songs that stay with you long after.
Liverpool singer/songwriter Robert Vincent released his fourth studio album
Barriers in June 2024 to critical acclaim. The record spent multiple weeks in the
Country Music Charts nestled between Beyoncé and Taylor Swift, but it was
breaking into the top 10 of both the Independent Album Chart and the Record
Store Chart that truly marked a milestone. Critics praised Vincent beyond genre
confines, with Americana UK noting he is “now recognised as one of the UK’s
best songwriters irrespective of genre,” and Rocking Magpie declaring he has
“transcended that [Americana] genre.”  In early 2025, Vincent was announced as the winner of UK Song of the Year at the UK Americana Music Association Awards for his track Follow What You Love & Love Will Follow, alongside a coveted nomination for UK Artist of the Year. Known for his powerful, soulful voice, Vincent has earned praise from key supporters including Bob Harris OBE (BBC Radio 2), who said, “The moment he started to sing I knew that this was something special.” In 2016, Harris also named him Emerging Artist of the Year, describing him as “absolutely magnetic” and “the real deal.” Vincent has toured extensively across the UK, both solo and with his band. In September 2024, he performed an official showcase at AmericanaFest in Nashville, and later that year, he was invited by Robert Plant and Saving Grace to open shows in Antwerp, Paris, and across the UK. His third album, In This Town You’re Owned (2020), produced by Ethan Johns, won AMAUK’s Album of the Year in 2021, with Vincent also taking Artist of the Year. The album charted at number 2 in the UK Americana Charts and was named one of American Songwriter Magazine’s top 20 albums of the year across all genres. Earlier, in 2018, following the release of I’ll Make The Most Of My Sins (AMAUK Album of the Year), Vincent performed on the BBC’s Old Grey Whistle Test: For One Night Only, closing the show—a performance that propelled him to the top of the iTunes Album and Singles Charts. Vincent continues to captivate audiences, whether performing solo or with a full band. Past highlights include performances at Celtic Connections (with Mary Chapin Carpenter), AmericanaFest in Nashville, supporting Roger Waters at Hyde Park, and touring with Robert Plant, Paul Carrack, and Duane Eddy—who gifted Vincent one of his signature Gretsch guitars at his 80th birthday celebration at the London Palladium.
